Assurant Employee Benefits provides today's companies with benefits packages, including life insurance, tailored to meet the needs of the company and its employees. With multiple offices, IT Director Bob Bullard sought a product that could help with internal collaboration and information dissemination.
Like all companies, Assurant Employee Benefits needed the product as soon as possible, thus a Web-based, hosted product was essential for rapid deployment. Because previous and current projects had been managed in several ways, the software had to be flexible enough to support and easily integrate with the different styles of project management. As a result, feature-heavy, complex software applications were not going to meet Assurant Employee Benefits' needs for rapid adoption and ease-of-use.
Improving communication
Bullard found that Daptiv was the single solution that mapped back to all key criteria. Obtaining approval for purchase was easy due to a flexible, seat-based pricing model and hosted infrastructure. Beginning with a small number of seats (50), Bullard had used all those up within the first week and had to immediately upgrade.
After six months, Assurant Employee Benefits had over 400 people, from multiple departments and numerous locations, using the product regularly to exchange information and determine project status. The real-time collaboration features meant that fewer emails were required to disseminate information and location was no longer an obstacle in terms of team and project management.
Increasing visibility, ensuring consistency
Daptiv provided Assurant Employee Benefits with improved visibility, providing executives, project managers and project participants access to the same status information, allowing entire teams to be on the same page in real time. By using project templates, project managers and members are able to communicate with more discipline, adding a crucial level of consistency to reports provided to the executive team.
